The Rave/Eagles Club has been killing it lately with all of the killer metal and rock shows. On a Saturday night Wisconsin welcomed Stone Sour, Red Sun Rising, and The Dead Deads with open arms and ears. The Hydrograd tour has been selling out shows across the country and blowing the minds of many.
First to take the stage of the Ballroom for their second time ever, The Dead Deads! This band hadn’t been to Milwaukee in nearly 3 years, so fans were ecstatic to have them back. This 4 piece band made up of 3 talented females and guitarist ‘Dolly Dead’ took the stage and made their presence known. The black X’s on their face to add to the ‘dead’ vibe caught people’s attention as well as ‘Meta Dead’ and her killer voice. The Dead Deads may be from Nashville, Tennessee but they are far from the country reputation that comes along with Tennessee. These 4 musicians are insanely talented and definitely brought the energy and got the crowd pumped for what was in store for the rest of the night. Find their new double EP “Sketches and Animations” on Spotify and more now!
Next to seize the stage was 5 piece band, Red Sun Rising. This band from Akron, Ohio never disappoints live. Fans were singing along to songs like “Push”, “Amnesia”, “The Otherside” and more off their popular album “Polyester Zeal”. Red Sun Rising just released a brand spankin new album titled “Thread” and played their song “Deathwish” off that album. Bass player Ricky Miller put a smile on many fans faces as he came off stage and got up close and personal playing for fans. Closing up their set was “Emotionless” off their album “Polyester Zeal”. Fans weren’t ready for their set to be over but, Red Sun Rising has a headlining tour (which you can find tickets to on their website) coming up where they will be slaying many songs off their new album “Thread”. Do yourself a favor and catch some new Red Sun Rising on the road!
Now for the band we’ve all been waiting for, Stone Sour! This 5 piece band from Des Moines, Iowa draws huge crowds where ever they play. Last time Stone Sour made their run through Wisconsin, fans gathered outside in a huge rain and lightning storm at Rock USA in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. A little rain, thunder and lightning won’t even stop people from watching this killer band. As soon as Corey Taylor (also known from Slipknot) stepped foot on this huge ballroom stage, the screams from fans were roaring. It had been 5 whole years since Stone Sour had been to The Rave/Eagles Club so everyone was pumped. Stone Sour opened up their set with their song “Taipei Person/Allah Tea” off their 2017 album “Hydrograd” and everyone on the floor was moving and singing along with phenomenal vocalist, Corey Taylor.
Stone Sour played many songs like “Hesitate” off their 2010 album “Audio Secrecy”, “Made Of Scars” off their 2006 album “Come What(ever) May”, “Get Inside” off their 2002 self titled album “Stone Sour”, and most popular, “Roses Red Violent Blue” (This Song Is Dumb And So Am I) also off their 2017 album “Hydrograd”. Stone Sour pleased both new and long time fans playing something for everyone. Corey Taylor truly seems at home on stage, and made the show a fun time. Streamers and confetti were flying in the air from his streamer gun, and it really put smiles on everyone’s face. From the streamers, to the Pyro, to the blow up air guys with funny faces at the end, this performance was definitely a memorable one. Sadly the night had to come to an end, and Stone Sour closed out their phenomenal set with their song “Fabuless” also off their 2017 album “Hydrograd”. But don’t fret, Stone Sour will be back in no time as support of legendary Ozzy Osbourne on his ‘No More Tours 2’ Tour.
Milwaukee had the great opportunity of seeing the Hydrograd tour with Red Sun Rising on the second to last day of the tour. Hopefully no one missed out on seeing this great show, and will catch Stone Sour when they are back on the road with Ozzy Osbourne!
